ICAT Clinical Consultant – Toronto

We are currently looking for an ICAT Clinical Consultant to join our growing Angus Connect team.

Angus Connect is a multidisciplinary team that focuses on planning and designing Information, Communications and Automation Technologies (ICAT) for healthcare facilities. Our unique approach marries technology planning with our client’s other planning projects including strategic planning, operations, process improvements and design.

The ICAT Clinical Consultant reports directly to a Senior Manager with extensive experience and works with team members who have a strong base of knowledge and industry experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert in clinical processes, best practices, implementation of technology to support healthcare operations, and change management practices
  • Planning, coordinating meetings, conducting interviews and running working sessions to acquire business requirements
  • Conducting research to stay abreast of new technology, from infrastructure, communications to information systems and devices
  • Analyzing business requirements for clients driving the need for technology or process redesign
  • Providing strategic recommendations on IT/ICAT solutions to clients, and designing a strategic roadmap for implementation of a strategy or phasing for redevelopment projects
  • Estimating IT/ICAT solution costs, with assistance from vendor partners
  • Pursuing new business opportunities, including identifying new markets, development of proposals and networking
  • Managing junior members of the team to ensure quality on deliverables and client expectations are met

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree in health-related field (e.g. nursing, occupational therapy, medicine) and/or e-health, Health Informatics, or other related field. Masters level degree is preferred
  • Adept at managing projects, including understanding client expectations, tracking issues, and managing changes.
  • A skilled communicator who has the ability to influence, negotiate and be diplomatic
  • Working knowledge of current and emerging medical technologies and healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary project team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
  • Experience leading consulting projects including user group facilitation, project planning and budgeting and project tracking
  • Previous experience successfully planning for/implementing clinical information systems and hospital system integration. Experience in clinical process redesign an asset
  • Interest in growing a dynamic and interdisciplinary team in new markets, including branding, market identification, proposal generation
  • Some understanding of healthcare capital planning projects would be an asset
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; working knowledge of Microsoft Project
