On November 23, 2021, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador announced its shortlist of teams invited to bid on the province’s planned new correctional facilities in St. John’s.
HH Angus is the mechanical engineering member of the East Coast Corrections Partners*, led by EllisDon Capital Inc. Submissions are due in late 2022, with construction anticipated to begin in spring 2023. You can read the full press release here.
The new correctional facility will include 264 beds for medium/high security incarcerated individuals, and 12 beds for community reintegration individuals. It will also allow for additional programming, recreation, and improved mental health services.
