Phil Schuyler

Phil is Director of the Energy Division at HH Angus, and a principal of the firm. He manages the operations of the Division, overseeing business objectives, and ensuring project delivery through proper staffing and technical training. The Energy Division specializes in a variety of areas, including design and engineering for central plants, prime generation and cogeneration, district energy, renewable energy technologies, low carbon solutions, battery energy storage systems, emergency power generation, fuel systems, manufacturing and industrial plants.
Phil has a proven track record of project management, delivering large scale multi-disciplinary projects in Ontario and British Columbia, as well as managing and mentoring numerous engineers and designers to help deliver projects to our clients. Phil has a passion for renewable and low carbon energy solutions, and his interest in sustainable solutions extends beyond work to the family cottage, which is solar powered, complete with battery storage and heat pump water heater.
Before moving into his current role, Phil spent 15 years as an Electrical Engineer and Senior Manager in HH Angus’ Healthcare Division. During his time in healthcare, he was involved in all stages of the design and construction process, from master planning and conceptual design through to contract administration. From 2014 to the completion of the first phase of the CHUM mega-hospital P3 project in Montreal in 2017, Phil was the Electrical Design Lead. The project was recognized with Canada’s highest engineering honour, the 2018 Schreyer Award for Engineering Excellence.
Prior to joining HH Angus in 2007, Phil worked in the microelectronics field for several years.
